1-18-2012  Guru Doc  (post 2)  We know the ultimate goal is dedollarization and this will occur around $1.13.  We also know several laws need to be passed to support the RV. This point was very clear by a published article on Monday which stated that there would be no currency reform until laws dealing with private debt post reform were enacted.  We also know the budget and HCl need passing.  This morning  the news indicated the draft HCl was agreed to but passage was several weeks away. We are extremely encouraged by these events but maintain the true RV is still weeks away.  As we continue to point out we need Parliament passing key laws. There is absolutely no confirmed basis for the RV to be announced at "any moment" or than pure speculation.  We report, you decide.

1-18-2012  Guru Doc  (post 1) Has the RV occurred or has it not?  The CBI did change the exchange rate from 1170 to 1166 on Thursday. This is a change from the program rate but hardly the ultimate RV value.  This easily could be part of the master plan to remove as much dinar as possible before the true RV...its much cheaper for the CBI to remove dinar at 1166 or 1170 per dollar than 1 dinar per dollar.  Moving the exchange to 1166 may entice a few more citizens to cash in...from the citizens' perspective they now can get a few more dollars for their dinar. It would not surprise us to see a few more minor movements in the exchange rate by the CBI over the next several weeks.  Our guess to the "official" explanation is it reflects the overall weakening USD or it is being tested by allowing it to float in the market.

1-18-2012  Guru Studley   you cannot compare this rv to Kuwait...apples to oranges...this is much bigger, with many more moving parts.... Kuwait was relatively simple process, this is dependant on numerous countries, and agencies, very difficult to work out timing of the event...they do not reveal the rules until full rv is released...fixed float means they can only adjust the rate based on IMF guidelines...free float means the market will determine the value of the currency...the CBI will let you know what type of float they released...I am not commenting on how close we are...everything is looking great...calm before the storm.

1-18-2012  Guru Adam Montana   from what I know and have heard from people both at banks in Iraq, government positions, and more - they are completely prepared to release new denominations however...they can't possibly have those new denominations waiting at all the banks in Iraq ahead of time it would be a huge tip off when the word got out, and cause a major run on dinar, which would cripple the CBIs ability to manage the rate after the RV is announced basically, it could ruin everything there are a lot of reasons to tie the value to the USD, but this one is one of the biggest if they RV at exactly 1:1, they can use USD to make change while the lower IQD denoms are being brought out  this allows the CBI to avoid that rush to buy IQD before the RV is announced and basically gives them more control over the situation obviously they would want to get the USD back OUT of circulation as quick as possible but it makes sense to use the USD as a TOOL to help logistically.

The HCL committee has agreed to the final version of the Hydro Carbon Law...it goes to committee next week and could easily be passed by parliament...the Kurds are happy, everyone is happy.  We can see the HCL passed next week!  This comes from Reuters not some intel guru.

1-18-2012  Guru Poppy3   INFORMATION TODAY COMING IN IS CONTRARY TO SOME OF LAST NIGHTS NEWS AND I am being told that the imf has not at this time released to the ust or fed any rate on the dinar but a release is expected at anytime and should happen within 48 hours. It is all just a timing issue and is still being discussed .  IT sure apeers this could be completed before the week is out.

1-18-2012  Guru TonyTNT    Last night all banks were put on alert. This is about to happen. Banks are on high alert and they are watching the bank screens. Its here!!  Process: Its either the WB to the BIS to CBI to IMF or the BIS to the WB to the CBI to the IMF. When the WB gets it they have 10 days and then sent it to the next level. they don't have to take 10 days. Could be 10 minutes...if they make any changes they have to send it back and start again. The IMF got is Thursday and released it last night to the system. They did not change anything. Now the banks have it...Everything that we are hearing is it could be here today or by Friday.

1-18-2012  Guru BWM   [ I'd ] rather not get into times because of the periods they have to work within...but I think that we would not see it before the bank update this afternoon, between 2 and 4 central...how's that...it's not gonna happen "on the hour" type of thing anyway.  I have theories as most do...we believe that Shabs had stated he wanted a managed float but then he didn't plan on waiting this long either I don't believe...a managed float can only fluctuate 2% every 90 days up or down...a free float is market driven and can/will change daily based on the demand (just like a stock).

1-18-2012 Guru BWM    I need to address all the hoopla...surrounding not seeing a rate change YET...first, as I tried to explain last evening the RV is an EVENT...the information that has been shared are PROCESSES leading to an EVENT... there are timing allowances within the PROCESSES that affect the EVENT...the EVENT is coming but understand that because one PROCESS completes there is still time allowed to trigger the EVENT.

Only once to my knowledge, but we could see this go into effect as early as tomorrow (Thursday Jan 19)...Chapter 7 is not lifted, but Kuwait is backing off and there is STRONG evidence showing support in favor of lifting it completely..now, as soon as EITHER of those items happens, we are on defcon 12, hang on to the edge of your seat

1-18-2012  Guru Adam Montana   [post 1]   the IMF did NOT release an RV rate...it didn't happen yet. HOWEVER for the first time since 2009...the auction rates changed at the CBI...it moved NOT A TINY BIT for 3 whole years...this means one of two things. A: The currency is going to KEEP moving, and it could happen at a VERY fast rate. If it's going to move to a $1 mark, or even $1.13 like those articles are saying - it's not going to happen 10 pips at a time. It's going to go FAST...or  B: It will stay at 1166 for 3 more years like it did last time.  I think A is MUCH more likely.

1-18-2012   Guru Kaperoni   The World Bank is staying on top of the plan...IMO they are trying to rein them in.  Get them back on track.  For weeks now we have heard conflicting reasons for the large currency auctions and subsequent dollars being pumped into the market...it does not matter what the reason is, just that it is happening...these recent auctions, and the dollarization going on is going to effect the CBI’s reserves. So then the question is..How long will Shabibi tolerate this?  Would he be willing to lose his reserves over this?  Or would he just RV, and reverse this activity?  The Iraqis must know something is coming...encouraged them to embrace the dollar.  Shabibi has had success preparing for the RV.   But...they need the “laws” in place.   IMO, it appears that Shabibi is very close to RV’ng the currency...But at the same time...at least 1 law must be passed prior to the RV.

The only thing they all need is announced.   The peeps i talked with said they expect all including the rv will now come together at the same time they said they had zero idea of the timing at this time and the timing is the critical and totally up to them to activate

What appear to be delays to those on the outside are not delays but normal problem solving.   Mechanics are "done", all in place.  IMO just just waiting for the word to go. Those giving the word are running through risk scenarios and debating arguments from those who still want "just one more thing" to be part of this. That is how it always is.

1-15-2012  Guru Poppy3   awesome news...we will have 10 years to cash in our large notes.  Majority will be remove within the first 24 month and the changeover to the new notes will take 24 months. The process has already started.  Release of the new rate should be completed very soon.

1-15-2012  Guru TonyTNT   there is nothing going on in Iraq that is going to effect this RV...we are still on track we are still in a good place...FOREX and Banks has info- the BIS – World Bank and IMF has the documents they need and they have  crossed the t’s and ‘I’s and it’s a timing thing and it is our time... I DO NOT SEE it for tonight or tomorrow but Tuesday...there are some banks stating they are hearing that rate [over $12] and a $7+ rate out there being bantered around and all to the GBP.

However the other issue that is scheduled for tuesdays meeting may need to be completed also. They have scheduled to have the 3rd and final budget vote on tuesday afternoon. But if M [Maliki] has done everything s wanted-then there should be no problem. Im hoping this will continue to move forward and see evidence of the RV before Monday. We are seeing lots of positive things. Everyone is pushing to get it complete.

1-13-2012  Guru Doc   There were two pieces of information this week which we find extremely encouraging.  First December's inflation was 7% for the country as reported by the CBI...there were regional areas where inflation was double digit.    The second ...the CBI...suggested the dinar EXCHANGE would happen by the end of 2012.   Based on previous comments we tend to believe this refers to the change over to the lower denoms.  We maintain the RV will occur earlier this year and the movement to the new currency will be complete by year's end.  What we need is Parliament back in session approving the supporting laws as we highlighted last we.  The good news here is that it looks like sometime in 2012 this investment will be realized.  We report, you decide.

1-12-2012  Guru Lojak    I have spoken to many intel gatherers today and contacts that I have and I can tell you that Biden and Hillary were in Iraq yesterday. They generally hide Bidens travels to Iraq for security reasons. Now the reason it is important the he /and or Hillary were there is pretty simple--we think to formalize the GOI and/or agreements with the US. They left late last night our time and arrived back in the US in time for Biden to be in Ohio.  I think Kaperoni is a very knowlegable person with regards to news...the problem I have...is that he only reads the news...You cannot always believe what you read or even see in the news...It just the way it is.

1-12-2012  Guru SteveI    it is now only a matter of time before we see an increase in the value of the Iraqi Dinar. Why would Dr. Shabibi want an estimated accounting of the current Iraqi Dinar? This is very simple, in my opinion, he wants to know his exact (to the best of his ability) accounting of their (Iraqs) exposure.Furthermore we were told that this will allow him to ship the new currency in the amounts that the bank is holding to replace the current old notes.  I think you will see some major changes when parliament meets again on the 17th.

1-12-2012  Guru Ray   one of my contacts...said this was in some of the papers in Baghdad...Shabibi had a meeting with all the bank managers last Sunday. He told them that he wanted an inventory of how much dinar they have on hand. He also wanted them to provide him an approximation of how much the people are holding in each of their areas too. He said he wanted this info back to him within 7 to 10 days.  I see no other reason why Shabibi would want an inventory other than replacing the old with the new. He also told me that the 2012 budget was voted on once and will be voted on again next week. It only has to be voted on twice before it goes into effect.  I feel that we are truly very close and the RV is right around the corner.

1-12-2012  Guru SteveI   I believe...that the United Nations told Iraq (Dr. Shabibi) that they had to keep inflation in the country under 7%...This was part of the terms also agreed to concerning Chapter VII...inflation...grew another 1% last month.  I also see another article today about the core inflation is at 7%.  One of Dr. Shabibi's concerns was trying to grow the countries economy at the current exchange rate and still keep inflation low. We now have exactly what we wanted, high inflation which will trigger a dinar revaluation.  the news we finally uncovered is huge and a sign that we are still very close to Iraq re-valuating their currency... I still hold firm on at least $3.41 or slightly higher.

10-11-2012  Guru Doc   All the public documents and statements point toward an initial RV rate of $1 to $1.3 with the most recent rate stated at $1.2.  The only indication at rates above these was in planning documents for several years out.  These documents indicated a target rate of around $3.4 for 1-2 years out and an ultimate rate of $5+ for 5 years out.  We continue to be of the opinion that the initial rate will be near equality with the USD.  There is no economic advantage for Iraq to RV at $3+ initially.

1-11-2012  Guru Adam Montana  I'm just as excited about the Iraqi Dinar today as I was this time last week...We're on the edge of great news, and it can be hard to be patient - but that's our only option ...we are indeed closer and I don't see anything that says we are backsliding of course - if you look for the negatives, you can find them but a realistic "big picture" analysis of the situation tells me we are still on track...I do not care what that one article said - if they are going to RV, they are going to address Chapter 7 and the HCL before June....Iraq is much closer to being out from under all Chapter 7 sanctions IN SPITE of Kuwait's resistance...I don't think it's [this investment] any bumpier than at any time in history...in fact, it's a lot smoother lately than ever before in my opinion...it's actually QUIET out there lately, compared to years past!  so if it's any consolation... 1-11-2012 Guru Doc ...ignore the rumors about mysterious software glitches and blinking bank screens...nothing more than unfounded rumors. Our main problems continues to be Parliament...no indication they will come back early from the stated date of Jan 17.  We need them in session approving the CBI/currency laws necessary to support the RV as was highlighted by the Finance Ministry recently.   Without these laws in place we do not believe the CBI will put the trigger on the RV.  We maintain our opinion that we are still several weeks away from an RV at the earliest.1-9-2012  Guru TonyTNT   HOUR BY HOUR watch, should have already happened... this time IT REALLY HAS TO HAPPEN...I promise you it is over $3 and to the GBP and it will come out at astronomical numbers.

1-9-2012  Guru Kaperoni   No RV for a while.  I am seriously thinking it is doubtful in the month of January.  The fact is, as I stated over a week ago, Parliament has the “key to the RV”.  Until they get to the legislation that Dr. MP. Haider al-Abadi stated “to liquidate the benefits of debt and the other between the dinar, the old and the new dinar” in his interview last week,  this event cannot happen.  Until we see Parliament address this issue, Shabibi’s hands are tied.

1-6-2012  Guru Adam Montana   first, nobody is going to force Iraq to change the  value of their currency, second, Iraq cannot do it without the support of the UN, IMF, etc...a change like this has to be a team effort so the question then becomes, who is holding it up? Or not agreeing?  Kuwait is the only variable in this that does not support an immediate RV but Kuwait doesn't have the pull they used to...the IMF and Iraq have agreed on the 2012 budget and in my opinion that means they have agreed across the board - meaning the "public" budget and also the "secondary" budget.  HCL is being discussed, Iraq is ready to boost production of oil by 900,000 barrels per day, and Chapter 7 could easily be lifted by the end of the day, well, not "easily" - but that doesn't change the fact that it CAN be done.

1-6-2012  Guru Studley   got some news from bankers round the world, there is some unusual activity in the markets, borders in Iraq are closed for a financial event...I would stay very balanced, because with all the good reports...the misinformation is everywhere.  One rule of thumb, NO ONE will know the rate and date...that information is EXTREMELY secretive, and it is a national security interest for Iraq if it got out...think about how easy it would be for major players to leverage the system for dinar if that type of info was released.

Information from the world bank, imf, treasury and the meeting in iraq have all been very positive that the parliment is working together and have actually been smiling when , meetings end. They have been solving differences according to parliment resource and cbi contacts.  this thing can happen at any moment. I suspect anything that is pending are things that could be done simaltaniously with a rv activation.

1-5-2011  Guru Kaperoni   There needs to be a law on the books approved by Parliament that liquidates all of the debt (mortgages, loans, etc.) from the old exchange rate to the new exchange rate.  That is also why I believe the articles that have come out over the last several months that have said the exchange rate will be 1.2 to 1 or thereabouts will be the rate for the simple reason it makes it extremely easy to liquidate the debt.  If you have a high exchange rate it becomes complicated to calculate...the CBI does not need permission to delete the zeros, but there needs to be legislation to liquidate the debt from the old dinar to the new dinar.

1-5-2012  Guru Doc   when we look at the things that need to be in place to support the RV there has been favorable news such as Parliament is back and working, the budget is close to approval, a new HCl agreement looks to have support and remaining chapter 7 issues are being addressed.  We maintain that getting to resolution of these issues is still several weeks away at the earliest and the probability of the RV occurring "at any second" is low. However, Parliament may surprise us and cuts some deals quickly. When asked about a maximum time we believe June would be an appropriate guess since this is the time frame the UN will consider chapter 7 release. However, as always any rate or date timing is a guess. We report, you decide.

1-3-2012  Guru Poppy3    I have had several calls and confirmations of news that the rv process and agreements between all parties involved are moving to implimentation. Bankers agree and the currency exchange center in ny is reporting they have just posted a rate on the iraq dinar for the first time in two weeks and the rate is showing that it is restricted at this time. This has now been confirmed by two peeps . The rate has not gotten to any banks yet but this is from the international currency exchange center. There was a statement made by them that when it comes out and says ust hold that it is not pending but when it says restricted then usually it is made live within 24 to 48 hour.

1-2-2012  Guru Freeway Bill    the news has all been fabulous all day!  I have every reason to believe that we are now finally ready to see our blessing...The rate has been all over the place... for almost a year, I have held fast to a rate of around $8. This made sense based on what Dr. Shabibi wanted and looking at the whole picture...if you go back to Shabibi's meeting about 6-7 months ago, he proposed a rate of $6 and the UN ask if he could justify it. He answered that with the assets and GNP of Iraq, he could justify $12 to $14...will that do?   Tonight, I have heard rates into the $13 range and I have to tell you that it COULD happen, but I will be happy and cashing in immediately whatever the rate is.

The answer is NO!, NO! and NO!...we need Parliament back and resolving these issues...we maintain they are being addressed and believe it will still be several weeks to complete resolution. 1-1-2012  Guru Randy Koonce   there will be no RV on Sunday or Monday or Tuesday...the earliest time would be around Wed or Thurs of Next week if it happens. there is things starting to take place that gives me hope for the end of the week...Look for the announcement of the Ministers and the completion of the strategic council...do not believe the 4 to 8 dollar rates and do not believe all the hype about the UN or IMF or anybody forcing Iraq to do anything...they are just about finished putting Maliki in a position to show all of this...Exxon, Shell, have said if Iraq does not start paying then they were going to shut there operations down... this was such a great sign because it puts Maliki in a position that he cannot afford...this is coming to a close.
